Difficult qualifying sees Brad line up on the seventh row at Silverstone

For Brad Binder the Qualifying for tomorrow’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone was not an easy session, due to his never feeling comfortable on the bike, and he had to settle for twentieth -on the seventh row.

The intermediate class riders were able to ride on a completely dry surface throughout the final practice session. Both Binder and Oliveira ran used tyres for the entirety of FP3, with the former going seventeenth with a 2:08.641 time and matching his best time from Friday on his fifth lap.

The duo used different strategies in qualifying. Oliveira preferred to focus his efforts on race pace, and found a consistently fast rhythm in the afternoon.

Brad twice returned to the pits to modify his setup. It had a positive effect and like his teammate he significantly lowered his personal best lap for the weekend. His 2:07.991 time put him twentieth.

The Moto2 British GP will have a unique start time of 2pm local time tomorrow.

BRAD BINDER
“I didn’t feel very well today, and despite that we have improved our best time from yesterday. During qualifying I didn’t feel very comfortable with the front; every lap was the same and I lost confidence in the front. It was very difficult to try to set a fast lap, because every time I pushed a little I made a mistake and I went off the track. We need to think about the warmup tomorrow and find a setup that allows us find more feeling. From there we can try to look ahead and recover as many positions as possible in the race. It’s something that we know we can do, because we have shown as much on other occasions.”
